The programme at HMO is shaped with our houseguests, people who visit or stay with us, whether that be for an afternoon, a weekend, or longer term. This can include, but is not limited to, artists, architects, cooks, gardeners, researchers, activists, neighbours, friends, family and strangers. Our aim is for the programme to be responsive and relevant to the people in and around the house, which means HMO is always evolving.

Events – these bring people together in our living room around a particular topic and have included reading groups, discussions, workshops, and can also include crits, advice sessions, performances, dinners, meetings…
Exchanges – we are keen to build relationships with people in other places through mutual exchange. We have an ongoing friendship with Live Art Bistro in Leeds, forming a group of artists from both cities who aim to meet twice a year to spend time sharing practice, exploring ideas and developing work.
Residencies – longer term programme – watch this space
Luby’s Legs – this activity continues the generous spirit of Carole Luby, an incredible artist and close friend, who in her later years was dedicated to nurturing artists and encouraging spontaneity, risk and play at her home, 25 Stratford Grove. More info coming soon.
